Centipurr™ Cat Centipede Costume

★★★★★ 4.8 · 2,164 reviews · 1,391 photos

A soft plush spine with fourteen legs down the sides. She wears it like a jacket, walks like she owns the building, and the legs do the rest.

Order today and it lands well before October 31. After October 17 we cannot promise Halloween delivery.

One size Will it fit her?
Fits a back length of 11–17 in / 28–43 cm — roughly 6–20 lb

That covers almost every adult cat, plus dachshunds, corgis and other low dogs. The plush spine has give at both ends, so it does not need to be exact.

What you are actually buying

Four parts. Each one earns its place.

Most pet costumes are a bad hat and a prayer. Tap a part to see where it sits.

The part everyone worries about

On in four seconds, without a fight

Costumes fail at the buckle stage. This one has no buckles.

1

Over the head

The opening stretches wide, then settles. Same motion as pulling a sweater onto a toddler, only faster.

2

Past the shoulders

One tug and it sits along her spine. Her front legs stay free the whole time.

3

Let go

That is it. She walks off, the legs start rippling, and you get the video.

Give her ten minutes wearing it around the house before the big night. Almost every cat stops noticing it by the second wear.

Details that decide it

Why this one photographs so well

You are buying a reaction. These are the four things that produce it.

A black cat mid-stride in the centipede costume, the red legs caught in a wave
The walk

The legs move on their own

Every step sends a ripple from her shoulders to her tail. Nobody expects it, which is exactly why people stop and film.

The fit

Nothing goes under the belly

Belly straps are why costumes end up under the sofa. This one rests on her back and shoulders and she can walk out of it herself if she truly hates it.

Hand pressing into the soft plush segments of the costume spine
The feel

Plush outside, no scratch inside

Brushed lining against her coat, no exposed seams, no glue smell out of the bag. Machine washable in a mesh bag, cold.

Trick-or-treaters at a front door reacting to the cat in the costume
The night

It reads from across the porch

Fourteen bright legs on a black cat under a porch light. Kids at the door see it before they see the candy bowl.

One size, and here is who it is for

Two minutes with a piece of string

There is nothing to choose, so the only question worth answering is whether it fits her. Measure from the base of her neck, where a collar sits, to the base of her tail.

Under 11 inToo small — it will slide forward
11–17 in / 28–43 cmIt fits — almost every adult cat lands here
Over 17 inToo large — the tail end will drag
Cats

Adults from about 6 lb up to a 20 lb Maine Coon. Kittens under four months are usually still too short.

Small dogs

Dachshunds, corgis, basset hounds and terriers work well — a long low body makes the ripple travel further.

Not sure

Send us her measurement before you order. We will tell you honestly, including when the answer is no.

Landed just outside the range? Order anyway and check it on her. If it does not sit right you get the money back and keep the costume — there is nothing to post back.

Three neighbours knocked to ask where it came from

I put it on him for the porch photo and he just… kept walking around in it. Did not stop, did not roll, did not do the flop-over-dead thing he does with harnesses. The legs bounce and it genuinely looks like something out of a horror film.

He fell asleep in it. That is the whole review.

Every other costume we have tried came off within ninety seconds. This one he wore for two hours and then took a nap in it on the sofa. I think because nothing goes around his stomach.

The reel did 400k and I am not a content person

Filmed her walking down the hallway on my phone, posted it, went to bed. Woke up to four hundred thousand views and about nine hundred people asking for the link. I have posted maybe six times in my life.

Bought for the cat. The dachshund stole it.

On a long dog the effect is honestly better than on the cat — he already looks like a centipede, this just finishes the job. Ordered a second one so they stop fighting over it.

My husband screamed. Properly screamed.

He came downstairs at six in the morning before coffee and she was standing in the kitchen doorway in it. I have the doorbell camera audio and I will be keeping it forever.

Two of them on the stairs is a genuinely unsettling image

Got the pack of two because it worked out cheaper. Did not think about what two of them side by side would look like coming down the staircase. My sister will not come over now.

Fits an 18 lb Maine Coon, which nothing ever does

I measured his back like the page said instead of assuming, and he came in at the top of the range. Usually I order pet things for him and they arrive comically small. Not this one.

The kids came back for a second look, not the candy

She sat next to the bowl all evening like she was working the door. Group after group stopped. One dad asked me to text him the link while his kids were still standing there.

Honest note: my kitten is too small for it yet

She is four months and about nine inches along the back, and it sits too far forward on her. Entirely my fault — the range is printed on the page and I did not measure. Told them, got the money back, kept it in the cupboard for next October. Four stars because I wish I had read before clicking.

Won the block parade against a kid in a full robot suit

There was a dog costume contest on our street and we were not taking it seriously until they handed us the trophy. The robot kid took it well.

Washed it twice already, still looks new

Mesh bag, cold cycle, hang it up. The legs did not go floppy and nothing shed into the machine, which I was fully expecting at this price.

Cat and dog matching. The dog is thrilled, the cat is not.

Exactly the energy I wanted for the Christmas card, three months early. Shipping took nine days to Michigan and the tracking actually worked the whole way, which is rare.

If she refuses to wear it, you keep your money

Some cats will not wear anything, and no product description changes that. So: thirty days, full refund, no return shipping to arrange. Tell us it did not work out and we send the money back.

That covers the fit too. It comes in one size, so if she turns out to be too short or too long for it, that is a refund and you still keep the costume. There is no version of this where you are stuck with something you cannot use.

Before you order

The questions we actually get

Orders placed today ship within 24 hours and arrive in 10–12 days — that is soon for an order placed right now. That leaves comfortable room before October 31. We stop promising Halloween arrival for orders placed after October 17 — after that date the site will say so plainly rather than take your money and hope.

Because the thing cats object to is pressure under the belly and around the legs. This has neither. It sits on her back and shoulders like a jacket and the neck opening is elastic, so there is nothing pulling on her when she moves. That is also why she can walk out of it herself if she really wants to — which is the point, not a flaw.

Yes. Her own four legs are completely free — the fourteen costume legs are decorative and sit above them along her sides. She walks, jumps and uses the litter box exactly as normal. Take it off when she is unsupervised, same as any pet clothing.

It fits a back length of 11–17 in / 28–43 cm, measured from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. That range covers almost every adult cat from about 6 lb to a 20 lb Maine Coon, because the plush spine has give at both ends and the neck opening is elastic. Kittens under four months are usually still too short for it. If she is close to the edge of the range, order and check it on her — a refund does not require posting anything back.

It works better on some of them. Long low dogs — dachshunds, corgis, basset hounds — give the best effect because the ripple has more body to travel down. Use the same back-length measurement. Deep-chested or very broad dogs are the one shape it does not suit.

Mesh laundry bag, cold cycle, hang to dry. Do not tumble dry — heat is the one thing that softens the wire cores in the legs and they stop holding their bounce. Air dried, it comes back looking new.

Thirty days, full refund, and you do not need to post anything back. Email us and the money goes back to the card it came from. If it is a sizing problem rather than a hate problem, we would rather just send you the right size for free.
